In 2010, the total waste collected and recycled at Terminal T1 of Geneva Cointrin Airport was of 497 tons, i.e. a sorting rate of 23%. In June 2014, a total waste of 421 tons have been incinerated, reaching a sorting rate of 44%. These excellent results were achieved at the airport mainly thanks to the implementation of a compacting press for PET bottles "that has significantly reduced the volume, the number of collections and the average weight of PET bottles evacuated after emptying of all liquids. Greetings to this initiative! Let’s continue our efforts for the environment!
